Local photographer requested logo and website promoting her photography business. Photographer is an upbeat, lighthearted person with a love of the color green!
Solution:
Created a simple gallery site showcasing samples of work using jquery carousel galleries. Logo was designed with her initials using a bubble effect. Future plans to include a blog site using Wordpress are currently in the planning phase.
Combine images of an animal along with mechanical objects to create a realistic composition.
Solution:
Combined photo of a lobster with a back hoe, bolt cutters and barbed wire, arranged on a photo of the shore with a broken lobster trap. Created in Photoshop.
Books and Crannies Recycled required a blog site to publish book reviews and book selling stories.
Solution:
Created a Wordpress site customized for Books and Crannies Recylced by modifying theme Fifteen. Incorporated plug-in features to allow for pop-up word of the week postings.
Create a brochure featuring a favorite artist. Brochure must be a folded piece including their major works, a brief bio and preset copy.
Solution:
Selected Yulia Brodskaya, an inspirational desinger and artist for the project. Created a gatefolded piece die cut to simulate the fluid quality of the paper medium that Yulia implements so beautifully.
Design a site dedicated to educating viewers on RGB, CMYK and Hexadecimal color systems. Create all graphics and use CSS to treat layout and text.
Solution:
Used a simple and sleek CSS rollover effect to serve as main page focal point as well as navigation. Researched each color system to create relevant graphics for educating the viewer on the differences and uses of each color space.
Create graphic for a Sony ad titled: "Full Color Sound". Incoporate preset copy and logo into graphic layout.
Solution:
Created a kaleidoscope effect using images of musical instruments. Overlayed with a rainbow gradient and clipped with a silhouette of a human head in order to achieve a visually interesting rendition of the ad's theme "Full Color Sound".
Design a poster advertising the 35th Annual Student Exhibition at Tunxis. Preset copy must be used along with gallery and school logos. Poster submitted for competition.
Solution:
Used a pencil shaving symbolizing the artistic process for all mediums. Created a simple composition using hierarchy to communicate preset copy.
Poster design and mailer design was selected and used for the show in Spring 2014.
Create a flash based tour of the Tunxis Community College campus. Include photos of each building and highlight key areas of the campus.
Solution:
Photographed campus buildings and created animated floorplan graphic which served as the tour navigation. Created detailed view of each building with hover rollovers to illuminate points of interest.
Select and research a typeface. Design a poster showcasing the typeface. Poster must contain each character in the typeface including italic and bold stances. All graphics must be created using typeface symbols and letters.
Solution:
After researching the typeface Garamond, I learned that it was the most eco friendly typeface due to the limited amount of ink needed to print it. Created an eco theme by constructing a sprouting plant using apostrophes, parenthesis and lower case letters.
